TASTING NOTES

Hazy straw; thick white head with excellent retention. Intense juicy ripe mango, peach, and passionfruit aromas on the nose backed by hints of resiny/leafy and bready-oaty impressions. Medium-full-bodied; moderate carbonation; soft and pillowy mouthfeel. Flavor profile is an explosive showcase of ripe fruits as with the aroma: mainly mango and passion fruit with a hint of resin. Medium-low bready and oaty malt held the fruity flavors together. Moderately low bitterness; medium sweetness that enhanced the ripe mango flavor. No perceived alcohol. Flavors of ripe mango and peach lingered long after.

THE VERDICT

King Al is an outstanding example of a Hazy IPA. The hazy appearance, juicy ripe fruit aromas and flavors, pillowy mouthfeel, supportive bready malt, and exceptional drinkability of this beer reminded us why we fell in love with this style in the first place.
