Knotted Root Brewing Company is a small, artisan brewery from Nederland, Colorado, and is known to combine elements of traditional Belgian brewing with the spirit of American experimentation. This brewery from the quaint mountainside of Colorado focuses on unfiltered hoppy ales, smoothie-style sours, and rustic farmhouse ales.

TASTING NOTES
Images of Mind pours like mango juice. The aroma follows through with very ripe and fragrant mangoes and hints of oranges, pineapples, and juniper berries. Medium-bodied, moderately low carbonated, and a juicy and pillowy mouthfeel describe the palate sensation.
The flavor bursts with the ripeness of mangoes, lychees, peaches, and cantaloupes. Zesty lime and orange citrus brighten up the primary flavor characters mentioned. The malt backbone is light and bready, while bitterness is medium-low. Meanwhile, the ripeness of the fruity flavors mentioned accentuates the overall juiciness of this beer.
All good things must come to an end. In this case, a powdery mango peel character gives Images of Mind a proper close.
THE VERDICT
Images of Mind is a spectacular aroma and flavor bomb. The ripeness of the fruit characters is spot on in this and the juniper berry on the nose was definitely something interesting and new. Images of Mind easily makes it to our list of all-time favorite New England IPAs.
