Early this year, Tony Sindayen released Andromeda X, a variant to his magnum opus, the Andromeda NEIPA. His quest to further establish himself as the champion of hazy and juicy beers in the Philippines continues with this work of art.

This beer is being evaluated as a Specialty IPA: New England IPA (21B) in the context of the provisional guidelines of the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) for the said beer style. The most current version of the guidelines can be found on the BJCP website.
TASTING NOTES
Andromeda X conforms with the style guidelines with its cloudy yellow-orange color. Meanwhile, freshly squeezed oranges and pineapples compose the aroma profile. This NEIPA is medium-bodied as expected, characterized further by flavors of juicy orange citrus, bright pine hops, soothing green tea, and delightful papaya sweetness. Notes of overripe sweet oranges linger after a sip.
THE VERDICT
In conclusion, Andromeda X is a slightly sweeter counterpart of the original Andromeda NEIPA. Regardless, this NEIPA, just like the flagship version, explodes with tropical fruitiness from the nose to the flavor– a hallmark of this contemporary beer style. Welcome to the new hazy frontier.
