Hell is a Munich Helles-style beer brewed by Wayfinder Beer from Portland, Oregon. This beer was a 2019 Great American Beer Festival winner and was hailed as 2019 Oregon Beer of the Year in the New School Beer Awards.

This beer is being evaluated as an Munich Helles (4A), in the context of the 2021 Beer Style Guidelines of the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP). The most current version can be found on the BJCP website.

Clear pale straw, white head with excellent retention. Moderate grainy malt aroma on the nose, supported hints of honey and herbs. Medium-bodied; moderate carbonation. The grainy malty aroma translated into the flavor also at a medium intensity. This was supported by light malty honey and an herbal-floral accent. Clean fermentation/no esters. Medium-low bitterness; very low to almost no residual sweetness; finished with malty honey and bready impressions.

Hell is a crisp thirst-quencher with a distinct grainy malt backbone. Noble hops were evident in both aroma and flavor, but more of that distinct spicy hop character could elevate further this beer. An easy pick-me-up; Hell, in our opinion, is an excellent take on the style.
