TASTING NOTES
Hazy straw; white head with excellent retention. The nose: lemon zest, orange, and a deep herbal and gum-like appeal. Medium-full body; moderate carbonation. Flavor profile mirrored the aroma with prominent lemon zest but with additions of semi-ripe mango and peach. Malt backbone was supportive and bready. Bitterness was notable, which accentuated the fruity flavors mentioned. Sweetness was low, giving this beer some perceived dryness. Luscious impressions of mango and peach with a hint of that herbal accent brought Motueka’s Promise to a close.
THE VERDICT
Motueka’s Promise is another New England IPA by The Marc’s & Tony Brewing Co. that delivered on its promise. It is refreshing, juicy, and really brought the vibrant fruity hop qualities forward. Excellent.
