STYLE GUIDELINES

This beer is being evaluated as a Specialty IPA: New England IPA (21B) in the context of the provisional guidelines of the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) for the said beer style. The most current version of the guidelines can be found on the BJCP website.

TASTING NOTES

Hazy Platypus pours a cloudy, bright yellow-orange beer with an aroma profile akin to a peach mango pie. The palate tells a much more intricate story. To begin, this beer has a light-to-medium body and is characterized by dank, resin-line, and grassy hop presence. Despite the hop-forward profile, no hop-burn is detected. These flavors are then balanced out by light malty notes, lemon peel, medicinal bitterness, and a bready backbone. Meanwhile, the finish of Hazy Platypus lingers, with notes of lemon peel and a familiar medicinal bitterness.

In conclusion, Hazy Platypus is a refreshing New England IPA that caters to drinkers looking for a sessionable dank-profiled beer. Plus points for the cool beer label.
