TASTING NOTES

Slightly hazy pale gold; white head with good retention. A pleasant bouquet of moderately malty aromas with grainy and honey impressions was noted, supported by subtle floral, spicy, and fruity accents. Light-medium-bodied; moderate carbonation. Like the aroma, the flavor profile yielded similar qualities. Think of moderate malty, bready, grainy, and honey-like with low spicy and herbal hops. Bitterness was noted at a medium-low level; dry (no sweetness). Finish was likely dry with grainy and barley-like malt and hop bitterness that briefly lingered.

THE VERDICT

Marie is an excellent interpretation of a Munich Helles. It is essentially a dry and easy-drinking lager that showcased pleasant malty aromas and flavors backed by subtle spicy and floral hop accents; it is a delicate drink for any occasion.
