TASTING NOTES
Hazy pale straw with a well-formed foamy white head. The nose is a bouquet of tropical and zesty citrus fruits: partially ripe mango, peach, passion fruit, and lemon peel. Medium-bodied and moderately carbonated; soft and slightly pillowy mouthfeel. The flavor profile mirrors the aroma but with additional orange pith and tamed piney bitterness. Sweetness is tempered; malt character is lightly bready. Smooth; no alcohol notes. The aftertaste leaves impressions of lemon peel and mango; slightly sticky and dry.
THE VERDICT
Outstanding. Alien Church embodies the hallmark characteristics of the New England IPA style– hazy, aromatic, and juicy. Now we are curious about how a “Triple” version of this would turn out.
