Disclaimer: We will come clean. This review was, unfortunately, written at a time when we were not aware that mats of bubbles are symptoms of a dirty glass. Just because we are Drink Me Dirty, it does not mean it is acceptable to drink from a dirty glass. Clean and rinse your glasswares properly. As better informed drinkers, we now vow to spread the gospel of clean glassware. Read more about this topic here. #DirtyGlassMafia

TASTING NOTES

Booming Rollers sits in the glass in semi-clear gold color. At a glance, this may seem like another of those watered-down pale ales, but the nose proved us wrong. Initial aromas of lemon, grapefruit, caramel bar, graham crackers, and dried grass come forward. Warmer, we started smelling freshly picked thyme and a faint yet soothing note of vanilla. On the palate, this West Coast-style IPA rolls in with dominant flavors of grapefruit, green tea, and pine bitterness– all in a crisp and light body.

THE VERDICT

Overall, the crisp, clean, and masterfully hop-centric, Booming Rollers reminded us of why we fell in love with the American IPAs.
